Hunch is local software, not a Hunch cloud account.

This is a plain-language privacy notice for a personal open-source project. It explains what stays on your Mac, what your selected AI provider processes, and what happens when you use this website.

The short version

  • Hunch does not require a Hunch account.
  • The app has no Hunch-operated cloud backend, telemetry, advertising, or centralized task history.
  • Saved credential values stay in macOS Keychain and are not placed in the model conversation.
  • Your prompts and the information needed to perform a task are processed by Claude or OpenAI Codex, depending on the provider you choose.
  • The website collects your name, email, and any optional social links you submit to download Hunch, and keeps an aggregate download count.

What stays on your Mac

Hunch stores app settings, permission choices, local browser-profile data, and credential labels on your Mac. Passwords, API keys, and other saved secret values are stored in macOS Keychain. Claude authentication is stored locally in Keychain, while ChatGPT/Codex authentication is managed locally by the Codex sign-in session.

When Hunch fills a saved login or secret, the model identifies it by its service name. Hunch reads the value locally and fills the target without returning the secret value to the model.

What your AI provider receives

Hunch uses the Claude or ChatGPT/Codex subscription you select. Your prompt and the tool results needed to continue the task are processed by that provider. Depending on the task, tool results can include text read from apps, files, websites, or terminal output.

If the structured interfaces are insufficient and you approve the vision fallback, a screenshot may also be processed by the selected provider. Your provider handles this information under the terms and privacy settings of your account with that provider.

What this website records

The website does not use advertising trackers or product analytics. It stores your light or dark theme preference locally in your browser. Before downloading Hunch through this website, you submit your name and email, with optional social links. We store those details in our Cloudflare D1 database to keep a record of download profiles. An email address identifies a profile; submitting it again updates that profile. The site also increments an aggregate download counter after a successful submission. The form does not subscribe you to a mailing list.

The website is hosted on Vercel. Form submissions pass through Vercel and Cloudflare Workers and are stored in Cloudflare D1; downloads are delivered through Cloudflare R2. Like most hosting services, those providers may process standard request information such as an IP address, browser or user-agent information, requested URL, and timestamp for delivery, reliability, and security.

Retention and deletion

Website profiles are retained until you ask us to delete them. To request profile deletion, email prithviseran0@gmail.com from the address you submitted. Hunch does not retain a server-side copy of your task history. Local data remains on your Mac until you remove credentials, sign out, delete the local Hunch data, or uninstall the app. Information processed by Claude, OpenAI, Vercel, Cloudflare, or GitHub is retained according to those providers’ own policies and your account settings.

Questions and changes

For privacy questions, contact the maintainer through the Hunch GitHub repository. Do not include passwords, API keys, or other secrets in a public issue.

This notice may change as Hunch adds features or data flows. Material changes will be reflected here. Effective September 8, 2026.
